The general who is skilled in defense hides in the most secret recesses of the earth; he who is skilled in attack flashes forth from the topmost heights of heaven. 不被敌人战胜靠的是严密防守；能战胜敌人靠的是适时进攻。善于防守的人，隐蔽自身如同深藏九重地底，令敌无从窥探虚实；善于进攻的人，发动攻势如同从九霄而降，迅猛突然令敌无法招架。如此方能既保全自己，又取得彻底胜利。
