善者不善者之师,不善者,善者之滋

这两句出自《道德经》第二十七章,原文是:

“故善人者,不善人之师;不善人者,善人之资。”

善者不善者之师,不善者,善者之滋”,用“滋”(滋养、资用)替代了通行本的“资”(借鉴、资本),意境一下子更深了一层:恶不仅是善的对照,更是善的养料。

这正好接得住我们前面聊的“大道无形,随势流转”——真正的道,不仅包容顺流,也消化逆流。

下面展开延伸。


善者与不善者:互为镜鉴,互为资粮

The Good and the Not-Good: Mirrors and Nourishment for Each Other

一、师与资:道的双向循环

Teachers and Resources: The Dao’s Two-Way Circulation

中文:

世人总想远离“不善者”,仿佛恶是必须切除的毒瘤。但在大道的视角里,没有不善,显不出善;没有反面,立不起正面。

善者是引路人,以自身的言行照亮路径;

不善者是警示碑,以自身的苦果划出红线。

二者同出一源,又在彼此身上完成闭环。

所谓“师”,是教你怎么走;

所谓“资”(滋),是提醒你为何不能那样走。

大道无形,正是因为它同时容纳了上升的势与坠落的势,并在两者之间保持动态平衡。

English:

The world longs to stay away from the "not-good," as if evil were a tumor to be cut out. But from the perspective of the Great Dao, without the not-good, goodness cannot manifest; without the opposite, the positive cannot stand.

The good are guides, illuminating the path with their words and deeds;

The not-good are warning posts, drawing red lines with their own bitter fruits.

Both arise from the same source and complete a closed loop through each other.

The "teacher" shows you how to walk;

The "resource" (or "nourishment") reminds you why you must not walk that way.

The Dao is formless precisely because it simultaneously contains the momentum of rising and the momentum of falling, maintaining a dynamic balance between the two.


二、以不善为“滋”:逆境即养分

Taking the Not-Good as Nourishment: Adversity as Fertilizer

中文:

你把“不善者”看作敌人,他就消耗你;

你把他看作“滋”,他就滋养你。

很多人的善,是温室里的善——没经过风霜,一吹就倒。

真正有力量的善,是在见过虚伪之后依然选择真诚,

在遭遇背叛之后依然敢于信任,

在被世界狠狠击打之后,还能保持柔软。

不善者的存在,逼出了善者的韧性、清醒与慈悲

正如水流因礁石而激起浪花,善因恶而显得珍贵。

English:

If you see the "not-good" as an enemy, he drains you;

if you see him as "nourishment," he feeds you.

For many, goodness is greenhouse goodness—untouched by frost, toppled by the slightest wind.

Truly powerful goodness is the choice to remain sincere after seeing hypocrisy,

to dare to trust again after betrayal,

and to stay soft after being brutally struck by the world.

The existence of the not-good forces out the good person's resilience, clarity, and compassion.

Just as water stirs up waves because of reefs, goodness becomes precious because of evil.


三、不弃不辞:大道的完整包容

Neither Abandoning Nor Rejecting: The Complete Inclusion of the Dao

中文:

老子说:“是以圣人常善救人,故无弃人。”

大道流转,不挑对象。

善者也好,不善者也罢,都在这同一股气运之中。

圣人不觉得善者“高”,也不觉得不善者“废”,

他只看见:一切都在道上,一切都是素材。

当你不再急于消灭“不善”,而是学会从中提取“滋”,

你就从道德评判者,升维成了格局使用者

这也是“随势流转”的一种:

不只顺风顺水时流动,也在逆风逆流中汲取能量。

English:

Laozi said, "Therefore the Sage is always good at saving people, and thus no one is abandoned."

The Dao flows without discrimination.

Whether good or not-good, all are within the same current of destiny.

The Sage does not see the good as "superior," nor the not-good as "useless";

he simply sees: everything is on the Dao, everything is raw material.

When you stop rushing to eliminate the "not-good" and learn to extract nourishment from it,

you rise from being a moral judge to becoming a user of patterns.

This too is a form of "flowing with the momentum":

not only moving with the favorable wind but also drawing energy from the headwind and countercurrent.


四、小结:善恶同流,方成大化

Summary: Good and Evil Flow Together to Complete the Great Transformation

中文:

善者是灯,不善者是夜。

没有夜,灯的意义无从谈起;

没有灯,夜只是一片空洞的漆黑。

大道无形,不分别灯与夜,只管让光在暗处生长。

你若懂得用“不善”来滋养“善”,

便是真正读懂了:

“善者,不善者之师;不善者,善者之滋。”

English:

The good are the lamp; the not-good are the night.

Without the night, the meaning of the lamp cannot exist;

without the lamp, the night is just hollow darkness.

The Great Dao is formless, making no distinction between lamp and night—it simply lets light grow in the dark.

If you know how to use the "not-good" to nourish the "good,"

then you have truly understood:

"The good are the teachers of the not-good; the not-good are the nourishment of the good."

道不只是自然之势,也是人性之势;顺流,也包括接纳人性的明暗两面。
